10-2: Wayfarer

From Chrono Stars

10-2: Wayfarer is the designation of a verge god endemic to one of Gerualdi's moons, Nune d'Ognos, of which it seems to act as a sentinel. This verge god has never been seen outside of the moon's planetary surface, though its voice has been heard within the moon's orbit, and it inexplicably is not visible from Gerualdi's surface despite its enormous size. 10-2: Wayfarer only becomes visible once within the orbit of the moon it occupies, appearing to "fade" into existence when approaching.

10-2: Wayfarer resembles a metallic steel fortress composed of spires that warp space around them, making even remote measurements difficult; some measurements indicate that the tallest points of 10-2: Wayfarer are around two kilometers in height. Although it seems to lack any means of ambulatory movement, the verge god has been seen in different positions throughout Nune d'Ognos' lands. Contradictory reports have seen it in different places at the same time, and from this, it derives its name of "wayfarer".

Although the verge god is capable of razing even military-grade ships seemingly effortlessly, it has never once left its apparent post on Nune d'Ognos and never attempted to pursue intruders who flee, and it is consequently seen as relatively unthreatening to Ealdremen and its inhabitants. Despite this historical behavior being consistent for close to two thousand years, an urban legend states that a commonality among various Gerualdian myths and faiths originated from 10-2: Wayfarer in some way. It is claimed that countless cultures with no contact with each other all have similar myths that once, mankind lived in a paradise far in the heavens and among the stars, only to be cast down and to have their means of reaching that paradise burnt to ashes by the paradise's guardians. Although such a myth has been documented in some Gerualdian cultures, its frequency is overstated, and any links to 10-2: Wayfarer are thought to be coincidental.
