Eccempasso is a Gerualdi Union-backed corporation that entered into spacecraft development in 4275 CGC, shortly after the Union provided stimulus grants and loans for businesses involved in space development. Its name is a compound word in Nicta-slio meaning beyond the eclipse, referring to the planet Gerualdi's three moons which often eclipse one another.
The company originally focused on restoring spacecraft from the Millennial Calm and attempting to reverse engineer their most complicated components, especially stitch drives. While many of these attempts were not successful, their early success with restoring a defunct Calm-era 3950 Bloom Tracer tradeship gave them a rush of funding that other corporations did not have at the time. However, due to the expenses involved in restoring the ship, Eccempasso soon turned its attention to less expensive but still lucrative ventures such as launch vehicles and rockets while gaining royalties from licensing out the tools they used to restore the tradeship. By the time other corporations had developed their own means of ship restoration, Eccempasso's vast financial power had earned it elected representatives in the Gerualdi Union's government as one of its most prominent interest groups. For years after, the company would continue to do business in launch vehicles, particularly focusing on innovations in "returning rockets" that could minimize waste and overhead costs in managing launch vehicles that could not "return home" to their originating launch pad on their own.
As of 4331 CGC, Eccempasso returned to the development and restoration of spaceships, funded mostly by weapons development groups that were, in turn, directly commissioned by the Gerualdi Union. The close timing to the outbreak of the Chrono Stars War suggests that although these ships were technically available for public purchase, this seemingly abrupt switch in development was connected more to preparations for war rather than anything else. Since then, Eccempasso's robust supply chains and purchasing power has made it one of Ealdremen's most prominent spaceship manufacturers, even with the war going cold and taking with it a huge portion of Eccempasso's business.
