Ealdremen Timeline

Timekeeping

The calendar used in this timeline is the one used by the timekeeping methods of the Collective Gerualdian Chronology, which are based on the planet Gerualdi's planetary orbit and the common base-10 counting systems originating from Nicta. While there are a myriad of calendars and other means of keeping time, the Collective Gerualdian Chronology (CGC) method is most broadly used as a standardized measurement of time.

Major System-Wide Events

Stellar Colonialism Era (2702 CGC)

Generally regarded as the first chapter of interstellar history, the Stellar Colonialism Era is characterized by the flights of several ships from Estvoled seeking out life on other planets. By this point, Estvoled had space travel to its moon and several nations had space stations in orbit around the planet.

The Three War Span (2702 CGC - 3045 CGC)

The Three War Span is an era of history marked by the foundation of major systemic powers and the resulting wars they engaged in. Although its name may suggest otherwise, there were more wars than simply the namesake three — the War to Shatter the Meteors, the First Imperial-Alliance War, and the Second Imperial-Alliance War. These wars are given the most emphasis in historical accounts of the era due to their importance for not only the people living during this period, but for the generations to come afterwards. Modern-day historians draw clear lines between the events of the Three War Span and modern politics.

  • 2702 CGC: The first Veriol Alliance is founded in response to hostilities declared by the fledgling Alamír Empire.
  • 2707 CGC: The Gerualdi Union is formed in response to the Veriol Alliance's weakening hold on its territories throughout the planet of Gerualdi.
  • 2710 CGC: War officially begins between the Veriol Alliance, the Alamír Empire, and the Gerualdi Union. This war would eventually be called the War to Shatter the Meteors.
  • 2795 CGC: The War to Shatter the Meteors ends with the defeat of the Veriol Alliance and the established independence of the Alamír Empire and the Gerualdi Union, though the Alamír Empire was so devastated by the war that it would be counted as a "loss" in Estvoldian historical accounts for generations to come.
  • 2829 CGC: The planet Beyné is officially discovered and charted by the rest of Ealdremen.
  • 2900 CGC: War officially begins between the Veriol Alliance and the Alamír Empire. This war would eventually be called the First Imperial-Alliance War.
  • 2952 CGC: The First Imperial-Alliance War ends with a stalemate and a peace treaty mediated by the Gerualdi Union, which did not participate in the war up until this point. The established territories of Beyné are given to the Empire in exchange for utilizing Union trade routes and ships for governance and supplies.
  • 3021 CGC: The Nazdrovie Pact forms to rebel against the Alamír Empire and establish independence for the nations that comprise it.
  • 3026 CGC: The Second Imperial-Alliance War begins. In spite of how war was declared by the Nazdrovie Pact and the Veriol Alliance did not join in the conflict until much later, the Veriol Alliance's contributions to the war effort would be given greater emphasis in historical accounts and resulted in their faction being named as a major combatant.
  • 3045 CGC: The Second Imperial-Alliance War ends with the defeat and dissolution of the Alamír Empire following the execution of its High Imperator, Derrin Stormwing IX.

The Watershed

In what would become the final years of the Millennial Calm, civilizations all throughout Ealdremen longed to escape what they perceived to be a "prison": the interstellar borders held by the vast serpentine verge god known as 51-8: Coil.
